It's December! Pray. Pause. Proceed.

It's December 8, just 17 days before we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ (Christmas) and 23 days before 2021 is among us...

These facts may cause a little anxiety for some as they're brutal reminders the year is soon coming to an end. If so, I encourage you not to grow weary or become fanatical about adding yet another checkmark to your "self-driven" annual to-do list.

Instead, for the rest of this month, let's re-prioritize our time and energy to spend more time with God in prayer, pause the busyness of our lives for a bit, and then proceed with the Lord as He leads us. Yes, let us focus more on the things that have eternal value!

Why?

Because the joy we often seek during this time of year, along with the type of peace that far transcends our human understanding, is only felt in God.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:7 (NLT)

Given this, please join me in making more time this month to:

• Rest.

• Pray more.

• Read and study the Word.

• Seek God for further guidance and direction.

• Choose joy.

• Express gratitude daily.

• And don't forget, celebrate Jesus!
