Is God really enough?

Evening Y'all! I pray this post encourages you and gives God glory! Got suggested topics you want me to write about? Please comment below or email me at info@mocatoday.com.

Today, we celebrate this blog's one-year anniversary! Woohoo! Thank you so much for reading and supporting our journey over the last 12 months! Check out our very first blog post, God is showing us some things, and let me know if you think the four takeaways are still relevant today.

On another note, last night, I had a somewhat pensive moment of reflection... While I have much to be thankful for, as do all of us, I found myself asking the question, "Yet still, is God truly enough?" I mean in the truest, most practical sense, when we're feeling our loneliest at times, when we may be doubting God's presence and sovereignty in certain areas of our lives, when uncertainty, worry, or anxiety seem to be winning at the moment, is God genuinely enough in our lives?

The short answer: Yes, God is enough in and through ALL circumstances.

Why?

Because God said so!

Let's review a few scriptures from His Word—

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ~Psalm 46:1 (NKJV)
But the Lord said, "My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power." So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me. ~2 Corinthians 12:9 (ERV)
And my God will liberally supply [fill until full] your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:19 (AMP)

Therefore, if God's Word teaches that God is always enough, then how does this truth become our personal reality, even in the toughest circumstances?

Answer: Five words— By intentionally embracing God's presence.

That's right! It's only with God's supernatural power [by way of the Holy Spirit indwelling in us] that we are enabled to hear God's voice and possess the capacity to do His will [even in the most difficult, challenging seasons we may face].

Yes, it is through God's supernatural power that His truths and specific instructions are revealed. And, it's confirmed and experienced that His grace is sufficient enough (2 Corinthians 12:9).

In other words, the more we embrace God's presence and pursue a deeper relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, the more we will experience a genuine, personal reality that God is indeed enough in all circumstances. Furthermore, it's in God's presence that we also experience true freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17), fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11), peace (Philippians 4:7), His righteousness is added to us (Matthew 6:33), and we find rest (Exodus 33:14, Matthew 11:28).

Writer Chris Vaught shares at least four ways to embrace God's presence:

1. Put God first.

We must set and keep our priorities in the proper order.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. ~Matthew 6:33 (CSB)
So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. ~Colossians 3:1-2 (CSB)

2. Pray.

We cannot enjoy a growing personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, if we aren’t willing to regularly communicate with Him through prayer.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)

3. Stay humble.

We can embrace God's presence through humility.

In his pride, the wicked man does not seek Him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. ~Psalm 10:4 (NIV)

4. Surrender.

We can embrace God's presence by way of a repentant heart and completely surrendering to Him.

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ~James 4:8 (CSB)

Remember, it's about progression not perfection!

God loves you! With Him, you got this! Until next post, may God give you His peace and blessings!

Yes! All of this! I'm always working on leaning into his presence instead of worry, sis.
